how long does it take for icloud to sync photos

I have both an iPhone and an iPad. I just turned on the photo library on the iPad, whereas it's been on already for the iPhone. How long before I can realistically.

Lots of people these days mix and match their operating systems, including services such as iCloud which was originally just for Apple product users. Every OS and platform has its own unique strengths and weaknesses, and who can blame us for wanting the best of all possible worlds? Most apps and programs have Windows or Apple versions or use browser compatibility to work on both, but a lot of programs do need a little bit of tweaking though. If you have an iOS device such as an iPhone or iPad, or a Mac, and want to view or edit images taken on those devices on your PC, you can do just that with a little configuration. You can pick or choose which options to enable depending on your needs. As long as iCloud Photo Library is checked, you can upload or download images manually to and from a PC.

Any changes you make to your collection on one device, change on your other devices too. Your photos and videos stay organized into Moments, Collections, and Years. And all of your Memories and People are updated everywhere. That way you can quickly find the moment, family member, or friend you're looking for. When you have iOS 11 or later, your library updates over cellular too.

The free iCloud data plan only gives you 5 GB of storage, which is extremely small, even compared to other free storage plans from services like Google Drive. When your storage is full, iCloud Photos will stop working. It will only store the first pictures taken in the last month, and remove old pictures from your Photo Stream. If you have multiple devices and take a lot of pictures, Photo Stream is fine to use. It does a good job of syncing photos between devices; as long as you use both devices regularly, your pictures will be backed up on each device you have.

If you want to send new photos to your devices that don't use iCloud Photos, you can turn My Photo Stream back on. I am seeing the iCloud Photo Library syncing getting faster in iOS 11, even with my backup phone iPhone 5s. Prior to iOS 11, it takes as soon.
