Today, the Dyson company unveiled its next step in vacuum technology, the Dyson Cinetic Big Ball, which does away with not only the bag, but the filter as well. Dyson claims this not only removes the need to clean dust filters, but maintains the vacuum's suction for the machine's working life. Gizmag had the opportunity to get in early and put the Cinetic Big Ball Animal through its paces. If there's one word that the Dyson company gets labelled with a lot, it's "clever. The bagless cyclonic vacuum did eliminate the nasty job of fitting and removing bags from vacuum cleaners, but also kicked the can down the road when it came to fine dust.
Our buying guide will explain which type of vacuum cleaner would suit you most, how much you can expect to pay for one, and which features are worth looking out for. This is a much better result than I expected or even considered. Clearly Dyson believe and stand by their product. I hope it lives up to the hype this time. Thank you Dyson, your assistance is very much appreciated.

Dyson made its name by eliminating big frustrations people encounter when trying to accomplish one of the most basic household tasks: vacuuming. So what do you do when the big frustrations are gone? You tackle the little ones. Company founder James Dyson created the first vacuum cleaner without a bag, and he also created the ball-based design that made it easier to negotiate complicated room layouts. A couple of years ago, Dyson also eliminated the need for a filter with its Cinetic range. Along they way the company has also been working on improving battery life, power and ergonomics, and other pieces of the vacuuming puzzle, and the new Cinetic Big Ball Animal continues that work.
It's extremely good with fine particles and bested the competition at deep cleaning. The Bad Despite the innovation, it still costs too much as its performance gains over much cheaper competition are minimal. It still suffers from tedious usability. The Bottom Line Dyson reinvents the wheel with the Cinetic series, and though the filterless approach works, it doesn't add enough practical convenience to justify the price jump over similarly capable competition. Dyson, along with just about every other major vacuuming manufacturer , has made this claim repeatedly in the past. And in the past, it's meant that the vacuum's filter was designed to last through a sucking up a cannister or two of dust without getting clogged enough to slow down performance. Now, since the Cinetic series has done away with the filter entirely, the "never" part of the claim actually holds water.
