Family Promise of Morris County, an affiliate of Family Promise , is proud to participate in a nationwide effort to help homeless children and families achieve sustainable independence. The week of Sunday, Oct. Family Promise Week will be celebrated nationwide and in the communities where there is a Family Promise affiliate. Since , Family Promise has helped more than , people with housing, case management and other services. Family Promise works on the principle that resources needed to help children and their families, which comprise 40 percent of the total homeless population, are already in the community. The program brings together houses of worship to provide temporary homes; facilities to provide space during the day for case management; and, most importantly, volunteers who share a few hours of their time, enabling families to turn their lives around. Serving Morris County since , Family Promise of Morris County is the Morris County affiliate dedicated to ending the crisis of homelessness by partnering with public and private agencies, congregations, and community volunteers to provide shelter, case management, and mentoring services leading to self-sufficiency.

Families facing homelessness up to 14 individuals at a time stay at different congregations of all faiths each week where dedicated volunteers provide a safe and comfortable temporary home for our families including sleeping quarters and a place where guests can relax, socialize, do homework and watch television. During the day, families may utilize our Day Center to meet with their case manager, access phones and computers, and use the shower and laundry facilities. A coordinator at each congregation is responsible for scheduling volunteers to prepare meals, serve as evening and overnight hosts, coordinate activies, organize supplies and assist the families as needed. If you are interested in volunteering in the network, please contact us for more information. The property consists of 5 spacious and fully-furnished apartments and space for our social work staff to provide case management services for our families. Finding affordable housing in Morris County is just the first of many challenges homeless families face in becoming self-sufficient.

I have to thank our volunteers and community members who give their time, talent and resources to support our shared mission of ending homelessness. Family Promise of Morris County is a non-sectarian, not-for-profit organization dedicated to ending the crisis of homelessness faced by Morris County residents by partnering with other public and private agencies, religious congregations and community volunteers to provide shelter, case management and mentoring services leading to self-sufficiency.
